Board of Directors

Sharon Willey, President

Sharon has two daughters, a current SVHS senior and a recent graduate attending UCLA as a freshman this fall. She has lived in Scotts Valley for 15 years with her husband, Stephen Morairty. They live in SkyPark so take Halloween very seriously and love being part of this wonderful community. Sharon also has a stepdaughter who lives in Boston.

Sharon is excited to serve as SVHS Parent Club president for a third year after previously serving as secretary. She feels fortunate to work with such a dedicated board and new members who are committed to enhancing the experience of SVHS students, teachers, staff and families. Goals for SVHS Parent Club this year include increasing student programs, fundraising, parent engagement and direct donations.

Professionally, Sharon worked at San Jose State University for 29 years and led enrollment management for the latter part of her career. She recently retired to spend more time with family and volunteer. She is an avid 49ers fan but nothing can top the mighty Falcons!

Heidi Denger, Vice President

Heidi currently has one recent Falcon alum at UCLA and one child at SVHS. She is very excited to hold the position of Vice President for the 2025/2026 school year.

Prior to this school year, Heidi served as President of the SVHS Parent Club from 2020 - 2023. Her children have been within the Scotts Valley School District since 2015 and during this time she also held board positions at Vine Hill, SVMS and SVEF.

Volunteering to help raise funds and fun within our school district is something Heidi is passionate about. She also chaired the Daughter & Me Dance for SVEF for four years, and led the SVMS Color Run in 2023.

Heidi believes we as a community need to ensure our school district is the best it can be. This school district is very important to our town and when our school district succeeds, our entire community benefits.

Steve Dinwiddie, Treasurer
Steve and his wife, Kristina, are longtime Scotts Valley residents and have two children attending Scotts Valley High School. This is Steve’s third year as part of the SVHS Parent Club. Professionally, Steve has worked in the tech industry for many years.

Maria Torchio Gauthier, Secretary

Maria has one daughter at SVHS, in the 10th Grade. Her son graduated from SVHS in 2022. She has lived in Scotts Valley for 22 years and is excited to help the SVHS Parent Club. Maria works for the SVUSD as an Administrative Assistant to the Principal at Vine Hill.

Monica Aldana, Fundraising Chair

Monica has lived in Scotts Valley since 2006 and currently has two daughters attending SVHS. Giving back to the community is something that is important to Monica and she has always been involved with volunteering for the schools, her church and other non-profit organizations.
She has been the PTA President at Vine Hill, SVMS and Baymonte as well as other positions on these school-parent Board of Directors since 2014. She has chaired the Read-A-Thon at Vine Hill, helped with the school auctions, Color Fun Runs, Teacher Appreciation, Drive For Schools and Direct Donation drives.
Serving is an honor to her and she will continue to help raise money for the schools in hopes to continue to make Scotts Valley a special place for us all.

Farah Galvez
Hospitality Co-Chair

Erica Turzak, Communications Chair
This is Erica’s fourth year as a Falcon parent and third year working on Communications for the Parent Club. She is excited to be back again this year and hopes to keep everyone in the loop on all the exciting things happening with the Parent Club and at the high school. She and her husband, Eric, have two children – Dylan a senior at SVHS and Ryan a fifth grader at Vine Hill. When she’s not cheering on her kids and their sports teams (Go Falcons!), Erica loves adventure travel and hiking.

Shirley Han, Hospitality Co-Chair
Raised in Southern California, Shirley spent her childhood in her family's Chinese takeout restaurant, where her love for hospitality took root. Over the years, she’s continued serving in that spirit, including the hospitality team at her home church in Mission Viejo and is honored to be part of the SVHS Parent Club hospitality team.

By day, Shirley works in the marketing department of a business intelligence company, where she collaborates with nonprofit organizations to amplify the importance of cybersecurity and promote digital awareness.
Her husband is a chef at Mount Hermon, and together they love exploring restaurants around Santa Cruz, spending time with family, and embracing everyday adventures. Their son is a sophomore at SVHS, where he’s actively involved in ASB and the drama program, and also enjoys playing a bit of baseball.
Shirley enjoys walking her dogs and soaking in the beauty of Mount Hermon. She also loves baking, cooking, gardening, and cheering at baseball games. She’s excited for the 2025–2026 school year and looks forward to meeting new families, sharing baked goods, and swapping favorite recipes.
